Milan Popović seeks biological mother decades after being found in Belgrade elevator

Milan Popović, who was discovered abandoned in a building elevator in Belgrade in April 1977, has launched a search for his biological mother nearly 50 years later.

At approximately one month old, Popović was found wrapped in a white and blue blanket by police officers in the Queen Natalie Street area. After spending several months in an orphanage, he was adopted and has since built a life that includes marriage, two children, and a move to Spain.

Popović recently revisited the building where he was found and reconnected with the individual who first discovered him. Despite his successful life and stable upbringing by his adoptive parents, he expressed a desire to meet his biological mother.
