Milanese RSA operators banned following elderly abuse investigation

Three socio-health operators (OSS) at a residential healthcare facility in the province of Milan have been banned from practicing their profession nationwide. The investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lodi and executed by the Milan NAS Carabinieri, uncovered systematic physical and psychological violence against four elderly female residents.

Audio and video recordings documented the abuse, which included slapping, hair-pulling, insults, and intimidation during daily routines such as dressing and bed-making. Two male operators face additional charges of sexual violence, specifically involving physical abuse during personal hygiene procedures. A fourth female operator is also under investigation for aggravated threats.

The intervention by the NAS Carabinieri aimed to restore safety and dignity to the residents, who were described as being in a state of total vulnerability.
