Milan stabbing trial postponed for Vincenzo Lanni
The preliminary hearing for Vincenzo Lanni, a 60-year-old man accused of attempted murder, has been postponed to November 20 due to a judicial impediment. Lanni is accused of stabbing a 43-year-old woman in the back in Milan's Piazza Gae Aulenti on November 3, 2025.
Investigations revealed that Lanni targeted the woman, a manager, as she was walking to her workplace at the Unicredit building. Lanni reportedly stated his intention was to strike at the financial world after being dismissed from a previous role. The victim sustained severe injuries, including the loss of her spleen and a punctured lung.
Lanni has been admitted to an abbreviated trial process. Authorities have determined that he possessed full mental capacity at the time of the attack. He was apprehended at a local hotel after being identified through surveillance footage and assistance from his twin sister.
