Milan to host charity pastry event for Emergency

The Accademia Maestri Pasticceri Italiani (AMPI) is organizing the Dolce Italia initiative in Milan to support pediatric projects by the humanitarian organization Emergency. On October 4, over sixty master pastry chefs will prepare 16 traditional regional Italian sweets, including panettone, cannolo, and babà.

Participants can purchase these treats via 5-euro tokens distributed by Emergency volunteers at food trucks located in via dei Mercanti. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Emergency. The initiative also features guided tastings at the Loggia di Palazzo dei Giureconsulti to showcase the history and regional characteristics of Italian confectionery, following the inclusion of Italian cuisine on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
