Milan tree collapse injures three pedestrians in Piazza Risorgimento

A large branch from a fig tree collapsed in Piazza Risorgimento, central Milan, on Monday morning, injuring three pedestrians. The incident occurred shortly before 10:00 AM near the intersection of via Pietro Calvi and via Galvano Fiamma.

The victims include two 21-year-olds (a man and a woman) and a 41-year-old man from Bangladesh. The 21-year-old male was treated for a leg injury, the 21-year-old female for back and leg trauma, and the 41-year-old man for head and arm injuries. All three were transported to local hospitals under yellow code; currently, none are reported to be in life-threatening condition.

Emergency responders, including firefighters, medical teams, and police, secured the area and cleared the debris. While weather conditions were stable with no recent storms or high winds, local residents reported that the tree had shown a noticeable tilt for some time and that concerns had been previously raised regarding its stability.
