Milan Uhde Marks 90th Birthday with Czech Radio Specials

The Czech playwright and former parliamentarian Milan Uhde celebrated his 90th birthday with a series of radio broadcasts across public stations. On Tuesday, ČRo Vltava aired a repeat of his radio drama "Zjasněná noc" at 20:00, followed the next day by Pohoda’s rebroadcast of "Káva u Kische" featuring Uhde from 1996. Later in the week Vltava presented a dramatization of Vančura’s "Rozmarné léto", and on Sunday ČRo Dvojka aired the two‑part play "Hrubý pytel, hrubá záplata" by Petra Hudský.

In an interview, Uhde joked that he is "impregnovaný proti nenávisti" (impermeated against hatred) while reflecting on his long career in literature and politics.
