Milan woman arrested for aggravated homicide of elderly father

A 56-year-old woman has been arrested in Milan for the aggravated homicide of her 87-year-old father. The victim, a former electronic engineer suffering from severe vascular dementia, died of suffocation in his apartment on via don Calabria.

According to investigators, the daughter used straps to tie her father's arms and legs to his bed and placed cotton balls in his mouth secured with adhesive tape to silence his continuous cries. She admitted to these actions, stating she wanted to prevent his outbursts from disturbing the neighbors.

The woman reportedly performed these actions for several days. On Sunday afternoon, after applying the restraints and mouth gag, she left the room to attend to household chores. Upon returning, she found her father was no longer breathing. She attempted to untie him and remove the obstruction, but medical responders confirmed he had already passed away. The prosecutor has ordered her arrest and transfer to San Vittore prison pending validation.
