Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation Donates Olympic Torch to Italian Cities

The Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation has presented the Olympic Torch to the Italian cities of Catanzaro and Latina as a token of gratitude for their support during the 2025 torch relay. In Catanzaro, the torch was handed over to Mayor Nicola Fiorita after the relay passed through the city on 20 December 2025, with Foundation CEO Andrea Varnier praising the municipality’s “collaboration and commitment.” Sports assessor Antonio Battaglia described the gift as a lasting addition to the city’s heritage.

In Latina, Mayor Matilde Celentano received the torch following a large public celebration on 26 December 2025 that attracted about 10,000 residents. The hand‑over, also overseen by CEO Andrea Varnier and sports assessor Andrea Chiarato, highlighted the community’s enthusiasm and the city’s role in promoting the Olympic values of sport, inclusion and unity.
