Milano rail services disrupted by power line fault

A technical fault on the power line between Milano Greco Pirelli and Porta Garibaldi caused significant disruptions to rail services in Milan. The issue, which began around 11:00, affected several essential connections, including the Malpensa Express, regional trains to Lecco, and high-speed services toward Torino Porta Nuova.

Technicians from Rfi resolved the fault by approximately 14:00, but passengers faced continued delays and schedule changes as the system worked to recover. During the peak of the disruption, travel times for high-speed and regional trains were estimated to increase by up to 60 minutes.

Regarding airport connections, some Malpensa Express departures from Milano Centrale were rerouted to depart from Bovisa, while service from Milano Cadorna remained unaffected as it operates on a different line.
