Milan's 2026 restaurant scene expands with Altrove and LaEsse openings
The city of Milan is adding several high‑profile dining concepts slated for 2026. LaEsse will open above the supermarket in Piazza Risorgimento, offering a cotoletta, cocktail bar and an extensive wine list. Altrove, part of the Viaggiator Goloso brand owned by Finiper Canova, occupies three floors in the CityLife district with more than 320 seats, a self‑service bar, dim‑sum counter and a terrace overlooking the new skyscrapers. Other projects include Luceferma’s design‑focused breakfast venue near the IED and the upcoming Monsieur Dior restaurant on Via Monte Napoleone, to be run by chef Enrico Bartolini and housed in a boutique redesigned by Peter Marino.
These openings illustrate a shift in Milan’s dining culture: restaurants are being positioned as multi‑purpose spaces that blend food service with retail, coworking and social functions, encouraging longer stays and new patterns of urban life.
