Milan's transfer stall and national team chaos dissected by journalist Franco Ordine

Journalist Franco Ordine wrote that AC Milan began the transfer window strongly with signings such as Gonçalo Ramos and Gila, but the market soon stalled because of an evident economic crisis and oversized squads that strain wage bills. He noted that many players remain under observation by owner Rui Amorim before a decision is made to sell or retain them, asking how long this pre‑season “pre‑exam” will continue.

Ordine also criticised the Italian national team leadership, saying Paolo Maldini and Leonardo’s brief joint tenure ended quickly and that federation chief Gianni Malagò was unaware of Maldini’s character as a director. He highlighted the failed attempt to appoint Andrea Pirlo and suggested that Maldini would need to own a club to exercise full control.
