Milazzo Marathon Swim Event returns to Capo Milazzo

The 15th edition of the Milazzo Marathon Swim Event is scheduled for the last Sunday of August in the Capo Milazzo Marine Protected Area. The event features over 220 athletes participating in two main competitions.

The morning session includes the 10th Periplo del Capo, an Olympic distance 10 km swim that is part of the Grand Prix Sicilia Openwater and recognized as a historic race by the Italian Swimming Federation (FIN). The race starts at 9:00 AM from the Croce di Mare beach and concludes at Tonnara Beach Club.

In the afternoon, the VI Memorial Aurelio Visalli will take place, featuring a one-mile swim. This race is dedicated to the memory of Coast Guard Sub-officer Aurelio Visalli, who died in September 2020 while attempting to rescue a swimmer in the waters of Milazzo.
