Milazzo road crash leaves 40-year-old woman critically injured, airlifted to Messina

A severe traffic collision occurred late on the main road in Milazzo, Sicily, around 19:00. A 40‑year‑old woman riding a Piaggio Primavera scooter collided with a Peugeot 206 car, causing violent impact. The woman sustained grave injuries, including near‑amputation of a limb.

Emergency services stabilized her on site and first transferred her to Fogliani Hospital before a helicopter airlifted her to the Trauma Center of the University Hospital of Messina for specialized care. She remains in intensive care with surgery planned. The Carabinieri and State Police are conducting investigations to determine the crash dynamics. Traffic along the affected artery was reduced to alternating flow, causing delays while the road was cleared by a local company.
