Milcho Manchevski’s documentary ‘Dobri Lue’ premieres in Macedonia

Director Milcho Manchevski’s documentary film, ‘Dobri Lue’ (Good People), has held its Macedonian premiere at the Makedox festival in Kuršumlija following its world premiere in Sarajevo. The 86-minute film focuses on the survivors, families of the deceased, and those who attempted to save lives during the tragic nightclub fire in Kočani on March 16, 2025, which resulted in 63 deaths and over 200 injuries.

Manchevski stated that the film aims to serve as a document and a platform for those affected, rather than a sensationalist reconstruction. He emphasized a minimalist approach, focusing on direct testimonies and personal experiences to avoid political exploitation or unnecessary spectacle.

Due to high interest, additional screenings are scheduled in Kočani at the ‘Beli Mugri’ Cultural Center, with further showings planned for Cineplex in Skopje starting August 26.
