Mile Kitić and Marta Savić to reunite for Južni Vetar concert in Belgrade
Veteran folk singers Mile Kitić and his wife Marta Savić are set to perform at the Južni Vetar reunion concert on 27 June at Tašmajdan, Belgrade. The event will feature original band members Dragana Mirković, Sinan Sakić’s son (in tribute to the late singer), Kemal Malović and Šemsu Suljaković, marking the first time the group has assembled since the early 1990s when the Yugoslav wars led to its breakup.
Marta Savić, who has been living part‑time in the Dominican Republic, announced she will end a 17‑year stage hiatus to join the concert, expressing a mix of excitement and nervous perfectionism. The show is billed as a celebration of the band’s golden era from 1982‑1991 and a tribute to late member Sinan Sakić, whose songs will be performed alongside the group’s classic hits.
Fans can expect a lineup of well‑known folk standards such as “Čaša ljubavi,” “Hej, vi hitri dani,” and “Vuk samotnjak,” with the concert promoted as a unique chance to relive a pivotal moment in Serbian popular music history.
