Milenko A. Perović legacy honored in Cetinje

The collection ‘Milenko A. Perović – Life and Work’ was presented in Cetinje, honoring the philosophical, scientific, and social contributions of the late professor. The event was organized by the Faculty for Montenegrin Language and Literature and the Montenegrin PEN Center.

Speakers at the event, including sociologist Miloš Perović and academic Marica Rajković-Perović, emphasized that Perović’s philosophical work was inseparable from his lived experience and social engagement. Miloš Perović noted that his father’s life was defined by a symbiosis of human and scientific-philosophical dimensions, often facing consequences for his commitment to Montenegrin national identity.

Marica Rajković-Perović highlighted Perović’s significant role in developing philosophy in Novi Sad, comparing his establishment of a philosophy department to creating an entirely new scientific field. The ceremony served to celebrate a legacy described as a moral and scientific compass for society.
