Miles McBride expresses disappointment over Knicks extension talks

New York Knicks guard Miles McBride has expressed disappointment regarding ongoing contract extension negotiations. McBride, who is entering the final season of his current deal, stated he wants to remain in New York but is finding it “a little hard at times” to reach appropriate terms.

The team's ability to extend McBride is complicated by NBA salary cap restrictions. To avoid exceeding the $222 million second apron, the Knicks are facing significant roster constraints, including limitations on mid-level exceptions and trade mechanics. This financial mandate has already impacted the roster, following the departure of Mitchell Robinson to the Boston Celtics.

McBride, who averaged 12.0 points last season, remains eligible for an extension through June 30. Despite the negotiations, he emphasized his commitment to professionalism and helping the team win.
