Miles Sanders charged with DUI following Pennsylvania arrest

Former NFL running back Miles Sanders has been charged with driving under the influence and careless driving following an arrest in Churchill Borough, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. According to court documents, the incident occurred on June 8 when police discovered Sanders slumped behind the wheel of a Lexus SUV stopped in the middle of William Penn Highway.

Officers reported that Sanders appeared lethargic and was “in and out of consciousness.” During the investigation, police stated that Sanders admitted to drinking earlier in the day. He reportedly failed several field sobriety tests and provided a positive result on a portable breath test. Additionally, authorities reported finding a package of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle.

Sanders, a former Penn State standout and Pro Bowl selection with the Philadelphia Eagles, is currently an NFL free agent. His most recent season was spent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2025. His attorney, Phil DiLucente, described the situation as a “private matter” and noted that the case has not yet reached the preliminary hearing stage. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for late October.
