Miley announces rebranding and tenth studio album ‘Bass Persuades’
Singer Miley Cyrus has announced a major professional rebranding, dropping her surname to perform simply as ‘Miley’. This shift coincides with the release of her new single, ‘Bass Persuades’, and the announcement of her tenth studio album of the same name, scheduled for release on September 18, 2026, via Atlantic Records.
The new single and its accompanying music video, directed by Mert Alas, feature an 80s-inspired dance-pop sound with electronic and post-punk influences. The song’s lyrics offer a critique of digital culture, encouraging listeners to put down their smartphones and return to the dance floor.
Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, has publicly expressed his support for the name change, comparing the move to iconic artists like Cher and Prince. To celebrate the new era, Miley is scheduled to perform two special concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16 and 18, 2026.
