The transition includes updates to her official website and social media handles, such as changing her Instagram username to @miley. The new musical direction is described as an electronic pop style, featuring the single ‘Bass Persuades’, which utilizes a music video directed by Mert Alas.

Following speculation regarding her relationship with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, he has publicly expressed his support for the decision. He noted that he has always referred to her simply as Miley and compared her move to the career paths of iconic mononymous artists like Madonna and Prince.
