Breast cancer awareness campaigns launch across the Balkans

Various regional initiatives and personal testimonies are highlighting the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection during Pink October.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Grand kafa is supporting the organization Think Pink – Zajedno smo jedno to facilitate access to preventive screenings and education for women. In Serbia, the city of Vranje organized the 'Daj pedalu raku' event in collaboration with the Milica Women's Center and the Society of Oncology Patients to raise awareness.

In Croatia, radio host Ivana Mišerić participated in a campaign to urge women not to delay medical check-ups. She shared her personal experience of carrying the BRCA1 gene mutation, which significantly increases the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer. Her testimony included a story of a friend who passed away at age 41 after repeatedly postponing screenings due to work commitments.
