Émilien Jacquelin makes professional road cycling debut

French biathlon Olympic champion Émilien Jacquelin, 31, will compete in his first professional road‑cycling race for the Decathlon‑CMA CGM team at the Polynormande on 16 August. He will also ride the Tour du Limousin from 18 to 21 August in his home region. Jacquelin, a five‑time world champion, signed a six‑month internship contract with the team after a broken collarbone required surgery in May. He said the move is meant to broaden his horizons and prepare for the 2030 Winter Olympics in France. National biathlon coach Simon Fourcade warned that Jacquelin must return to the biathlon squad by late August or early September, or risk missing the upcoming season.
