Militant attack on Pakistan Rangers headquarters in Karachi kills three

At least three Pakistan Rangers personnel were killed and four others injured during an armed attack on a paramilitary facility in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area on the night of June 27.

Militants reportedly used a vehicle to strike the compound’s outer barricade and detonated explosives near the entrance before opening fire on security forces. The attack was claimed by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In response to the assault, security forces, including Special Security Unit commandos and counterterrorism personnel, launched an operation to secure the area. Initial reports indicate that several attackers were killed and one suspect was captured alive during the exchange of gunfire.
