Military Academy in Skopje faces criticism over ethnic representation

The Alliance for Albanians (ASH) has raised concerns regarding the lack of ethnic representation at the Military Academy in Skopje. According to the preliminary list for new cadet admissions, only one out of 46 candidates is ethnic Albanian.

ASH criticized the VLEN political coalition, which is part of the current government and holds positions within the Ministry of Defense, for its silence on the matter. The party argued that being in power and claiming to represent Albanians is meaningless if they cannot ensure even basic representation in institutions that prepare future military personnel. ASH called for immediate clarification from the Ministry of Defense and the Military Academy, demanding political accountability from Albanian representatives within the government.
