Military and civil defense leadership changes in Brazil

The 30th Mechanized Infantry Battalion (30º BIMec) celebrated its 58th anniversary in Apucarana, Paraná. During the ceremony, Mayor Rodolfo Mota presented a certificate of appreciation to Battalion Commander Colonel Ubiratan Athayde Marcondes Filho for the unit's humanitarian assistance following a severe storm on September 21. Military personnel were mobilized for nearly 20 days to assist with debris removal, tile distribution, and family assistance.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Military Firefighters Corps (CBMERJ) held a command transition ceremony for the Serrana Region (CBA II). Colonel BM Feliciano Francisco Suassuna assumed command, succeeding Colonel BM Vinícius Pinto Fernandes Santos. Following the transition, Colonel Fernandes was sworn in as the new Municipal Secretary of Civil Defense for Petrópolis by Mayor Hingo Hammes, aimed at strengthening disaster prevention and risk management in the region.
