Military escalations reported in Yemen and the West Bank

Military activity has escalated across multiple fronts in Yemen and the West Bank. In Yemen, intense fighting has broken out in southern and western provinces, including the Kahbub mountain range, the southern countryside of Taiz, and the Sabihah region. Yemeni government forces reported repelling a Houthi attack on the Kahbub mountains and successfully shooting down three Houthi drones. Additionally, government troops regained control of strategic heights overlooking supply lines and the Al-Wazi'iyah district, specifically seizing Jabal Qarfan.

In the West Bank, heightened military activity follows a fatal shooting incident in Area C during the Yom Kippur holiday. The Israeli military has increased its presence with 23 battalions to manage rising tensions and prevent further attacks. Officials noted the difficulty of securing the vast number of settlements and outposts amidst expanding settlement projects and increased friction with Palestinian residents. Military leadership has warned that the region remains on the verge of significant unrest.
