Military experts warn of NATO unpreparedness and Russian tactical shifts

Military experts are warning of significant shifts in warfare tactics and potential security risks for NATO and Ukraine. Robertas Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, argues that NATO members are overestimating their readiness for modern, technology-driven conflicts. He highlights an economic asymmetry where defending against mass-produced, low-cost kamikaze drones using expensive traditional missile systems could become unsustainable for national economies.

Brovdi notes that Russia is rapidly expanding its military potential, including domestic drone and missile production, which could lead to lightning-fast invasions targeting the Baltic states.

Additionally, expert G. Grant warns that Russia may seek new operational methods, potentially using Belarusian territory as a corridor for future offensives against Ukraine. While Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has avoided direct military involvement to mitigate domestic political risks, the possibility of Russia leveraging Belarusian dependency remains a critical concern for Ukrainian leadership.
