Military forces expand drone and counter-UAS capabilities
The Utah National Guard and the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces are enhancing their military cooperation through specialized training in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). As part of a 23-year State Partnership Program, a specialized cadre course on small UAS was conducted in Agadir. The initiative, which included collaboration with U.S. Africa Command and the 7th Army Training Command, aims to develop UAS operators and instructors while improving interoperability and information sharing between the two nations.
In the United States, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401) have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen collaboration on counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS). This agreement establishes a framework for exchanging test data, research, and operational information to better understand evolving unmanned threats. The partnership seeks to reduce duplicative testing and accelerate the deployment of counter-drone technologies to protect NNSA laboratories, plants, and sites.
