Military forces in Kenya and Ghana enhance combat readiness through specialized training

Military training programs in Kenya and Ghana are focusing on enhancing combat readiness and specialized tactical skills to address evolving regional security threats.

In Kenya, General Service Officer Cadets at the Kenya Military Academy completed a two-week field training exercise in the Lanet and Gilgil areas. The training focused on urban warfare and asymmetric warfare dynamics to improve tactical proficiency, leadership, and decision-making under pressure.

In Ghana, 20 personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces graduated from the Army Special Operations Forces Basic Course after nine months of intensive instruction. The cohort, consisting of one officer and 19 soldiers, underwent training in diverse environments including jungle, riverine, and mountainous terrain. The curriculum covered counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency, and special reconnaissance to prepare personnel for complex security environments in West Africa.
