In Ghana, Acting Defence Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has called for the Ghana Armed Forces to transition toward smart technology and intelligence-driven operations. During a handover ceremony to the substantive Defence Minister, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, on August 14, 2026, Forson emphasized that modern security threats require an agile force focused on technological tools rather than solely relying on manpower. He also stressed the importance of professionalism and constitutional loyalty to maintain public trust.

In Nigeria, the Democratic Youth Assembly of Nigeria (DYAN) has pledged its support to the Armed Forces of Nigeria to combat propaganda, misinformation, and disinformation. During a meeting with Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, DYAN National Coordinator Ambassador Bashir Nasiru Garki stated that the organization aims to use strategic youth participation to protect public trust in security institutions and defend national unity through digital and constructive engagement.
