Military operations disrupt drug production in Mexico and Colombia

Security forces in Mexico and Colombia have conducted significant operations targeting drug manufacturing infrastructure.

In Culiacán, Mexico, the Mexican Army seized 1,240 liters of chemical precursors used for methamphetamine production in the town of Los Cedros. The Mexican Security Cabinet reported that this seizure represents an economic loss of approximately 25 million pesos to a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. The materials have been placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry.

In El Peñol, Colombia, the Army and Anti-Narcotics Directorate destroyed a cocaine processing laboratory linked to the criminal structure known as ‘El Mesa’. Authorities recovered over 350 kilograms of processed cocaine hydrochloride, 264 gallons of liquid substances, and 801 gallons of chemical inputs. The operation, which included the seizure of various processing tools and equipment, is estimated to have caused an economic impact of 1.5 billion pesos.
