US military doctor investigates links between COVID-19 vaccines and service member deaths

Dr. Theresa Long, a military physician, testified in a Virginia federal court that she is collaborating with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to investigate potential links between COVID-19 vaccines and the deaths of U.S. service members.

Long is currently reviewing 2,544 unverified deaths reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) among military personnel. She intends to complete her research into these potential vaccine-related health complications within one year.

The investigation follows a January 2025 executive order from President Donald Trump to reinstate service members who were previously discharged due to Biden-era COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Secretary Hegseth has expressed a commitment to correcting what he describes as injustices from the previous administration and has moved to end the universal flu vaccine mandate.
