Military Technical Academy to launch elite training program
The Military Technical Academy in Vietnam is launching an elite training program designed to produce high-level technical experts for the military. During a seminar marking 60 years of training on September 29, academy leadership outlined plans to focus on strategic technology sectors, including computer science, electronics and telecommunications, radar guidance, mechanics, mechatronics, and automation.
For the 2026–2030 period, the academy aims to train 100–150 talented military engineers, 60–75 talented masters, and 30 high-quality doctors. This scale is expected to expand between 2030 and 2035. The program will utilize a small-scale, individualized model inspired by international institutions such as MIT, Stanford, and Harvard, as well as models used in Russia and China.
Students will not be selected for the elite track immediately. After the first two years, the academy will select individuals demonstrating exceptional ability in STEM fields. Priority will be given to students who have won awards in national and international Olympiads. The goal is to create a specialized workforce capable of leading large-scale technical projects and mastering advanced technologies within the military.
