Katarina Petrović addresses professional consequences and political pressure

Katarina Petrović, a major in the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, has spoken out regarding the professional and personal consequences she and her husband are facing. She stated that they are prepared to pay the price for their actions and will not abandon their principles despite facing various sanctions.

Petrović’s situation gained public attention following her 2023 disclosure of information regarding a traffic accident involving Nikola Petrović, the godfather of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. Additionally, her husband recently faced disciplinary action from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which included the loss of rank following the publication of a caricature of a police officer on his private Facebook profile.

Petrović also addressed the recent political climate, appealing to security service members to remain loyal to the Constitution and the law. She characterized recent arrests following the October 25 elections as a form of intimidation.
