MilkLife Superliga Junior 2026 badminton tournament begins in Kudus

The MilkLife Superliga Junior 2026 badminton tournament commenced on November 2 in Kudus, Central Java, featuring 707 young athletes from eight countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Poland, and the United States. Organized by the Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation in collaboration with PBSI and MilkLife, the team-based competition offers total prizes exceeding Rp1.4 billion.

The tournament covers four age categories: U-13, U-15, U-17, and U-19 for both male and female sectors. It utilizes a team format similar to the Thomas and Uber Cups to help young athletes develop mental resilience under pressure. This year, international club participation has been expanded to include the U-15 category to provide Indonesian players with earlier exposure to foreign opponents.

Additionally, the event serves as a testing ground for the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) proposed 3x15 rally point scoring system, which is slated for potential implementation in January 2027.
