Millares offers dinosaur footprints and natural landmarks in Valencia
The municipality of Millares, located in the Canal de Navarrés region of Valencia, offers significant prehistoric and natural attractions. The Tambuc Ichnological Site contains over 400 tridactyl dinosaur footprints dating back approximately 80 million years to the Cretaceous period. This site, which covers about 30,000 square meters, is officially declared a Bien de Interés Cultural and features walkways and platforms for protected observation.
Beyond paleontology, the area preserves Levantine rock art, including a notable scene in the Abrigo de los Chorradores depicting honey collection. Additionally, the region features the Chorrador del Bosque, a 68-meter waterfall known as ‘El Monstruo,’ accessible via hiking trails near the Júcar River.
