Millau, France and Menzel Jemil, Tunisia impose new local bans on personal mobility devices

The municipality of Millau in southern France issued an order on 30 July requiring users of personal mobility devices – bicycles, electric scooters, hoverboards and similar – to dismount and walk when travelling on several listed streets in the town centre. The rule applies immediately after signage is installed and targets the streets La Capelle, Droite, Bernard‑Lauret, Mandarous, Peyssière and the Mandarous dead‑end.

In Tunisia, the town of Menzel Jemil adopted a municipal decree on 29 July that bans night‑time circulation of quads and motorcycles equipped with noisy or modified exhausts from 20:00 to 04:00. The temporary prohibition runs from 1 August until 15 September 2026 and aims to reduce noise complaints and improve road safety for residents.
