Millau hosts soil health and composting awareness event
The Association Causses Compost hosted an educational event titled ‘Fête du sol vivant’ (Festival of Living Soil) along the banks of the Tarn in Millau. The initiative aimed to inform the public about soil life and the importance of waste sorting.
Data from 2024 indicates that residents of the Millau Grands Causses community produce nearly 200 kg of non-recyclable household waste per year. To address this, the association promotes the use of specific sorting methods, such as yellow bags for packaging and paper, and orange bags or composting for food waste. Additional community sessions are scheduled for October 10 and 11 near the Pont de Fer street to discuss composting and organic matter management.
