Millau Viaduct to close for biennial running race

The 8th edition of the Eiffage Millau Viaduct race is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026. This biennial event, which began in 2007, expects to host thousands of runners for a 23.7 km course.

As part of the event, the Millau Viaduct will be closed to all vehicle traffic in both directions between interchanges 45 (Millau/Saint-Germain) and 47 (La Cavalerie) on the A75 motorway. The closure is expected to last from approximately 8:20 AM to 1:30 PM. This marks the only sporting event in France that requires a total traffic interruption on a motorway.

In addition to the motorway closure, significant traffic and parking disruptions are expected in the center of Millau. The race will start in the city center on Boulevard de l’Ayrolle, with the starting zone extending to Place du Mandarous, and will conclude at Parc de la Victoire.
