Millennium Management expands to Athens as assets approach $100bn

Millennium Management, a major multi-strategy hedge fund, is expanding its operations by establishing its first office in Athens, Greece. The firm incorporated Millennium Capital Management (Greece) in July 2026. This move follows a trend of high-profile financial professionals relocating to Greece, driven largely by the country’s tax incentives, including a flat €100,000 annual tax on foreign income for qualifying residents.

Simultaneously, Millennium Management is nearing a significant milestone in assets under management (AUM). The firm currently manages approximately $97 billion, approaching the $100 billion mark. It is reportedly preparing to receive $22 billion in new investor commitments starting October 1, with additional discussions underway for a $3 billion raise for a credit strategy. If current growth and return trends continue, the firm's assets could potentially exceed $130 billion in the coming years.
