Millonarios close in on signing Argentine centre‑back Agustín García Basso

Colombian club Millonarios is in the final stages of negotiations to acquire 34‑year‑old Argentine defender Agustín García Basso from Racing Club. The player has been granted permission to leave after new Racing coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda told him he will not feature regularly, and Racing is facilitating the transfer as his contract expires in six months.

Previous attempts to move the defender to San Lorenzo and Newell’s Old Boys fell through over compensation and contract terms. Millonarios’ offer includes an 18‑month contract with a competitive salary, and the club’s management in Bogotá expressed optimism that the deal could be completed within days, strengthening the team under coach Fabián Bustos for the second half of the season.
