Millonarios reshapes roster with player exits and new transfer target

Colombian club Millonarios is overhauling its squad ahead of the second half of the season. The team is reportedly targeting midfielder Jesús David Rivas, currently with Junior, as a replacement for long‑time stalwart Mackalister Silva. Reports say a substantial fee would be required to secure Rivas.

At the same time, defender Nicolás Giraldo terminated his contract early, despite an agreement that ran until January 2027. Giraldo had featured in only seven matches since joining in 2025 and left after a period without playing time. His departure joins a broader clean‑up that includes the exits of several other players such as Radamel Falcao, Alex Castro, Beckham David Castro, Jorge Hurtado, Guillermo De Amores, Diego Novoa and Juan Carlos Pereira. The club’s leadership is seeking reinforcements in goal, midfield and attack as it attempts to recover from early eliminations in international competitions and a weak domestic campaign.
