Millonarios signs Brazilian midfielder Leonai Souza

Brazilian defensive midfielder Leonai Souza, 31, completed his medical examinations and officially joined Colombian club Millonarios for the second half of the 2026 season. The signing was confirmed by the club after Souza passed all required tests and signed the contract.

Souza arrives from Náutico in Brazil’s Serie B, where he played ten matches after a stint with Barcelona Sporting Club in Ecuador. Over his career he has logged 224 appearances, three goals and five assists, and is noted for his ball‑recovery, physical intensity and tactical balance. Coach Fabián Bustos, who previously worked with Souza at Barcelona SC, highlighted the midfielder’s defensive qualities and said the addition provides competition for current starter Rodrigo Ureña in the midfield.

The transfer marks Millonarios’ seventh new player in the current window, aimed at strengthening the team’s midfield as it pursues titles in the Liga BetPlay and Copa Colombia.
