Millow and Khloud announce protein-focused business expansions

Swedish food-tech startup Millow has secured €2 million in funding to expand its production of clean-label protein. The investment, led by Magnus Emilson and joined by Vitamin Well co-founder Jan Enhager, will support the expansion of solid-state fermentation manufacturing capacity. The company produces a fungal protein using Swedish oats and mycelium, which requires significantly less water and has a carbon footprint approximately 98% lower than Swedish beef.

In the snack sector, Khloud, a protein brand co-founded by Khloé Kardashian, has launched a new line of collagen protein chips. The Khloud Plus range, available at Walmart, features 17g of protein per serving, including 2g of hydrolysed collagen. The product line includes flavors such as Sweet Heat, Nacho, Buffalo, and a Walmart-exclusive Jalapeño, targeting the functional food market with gluten-free and non-GMO ingredients.
