Millwall midfielder Rafiq Lamptey joins Chesterfield on season‑long loan

Millwall 20‑year‑old midfielder Rafiq Lamptey has signed a season‑long loan with League Two side Chesterfield. After a successful trial period, the player travelled to Dublin to meet his new teammates and discussed terms with Chesterfield manager Paul Cook before finalising the move.

Lamptey said he feels welcomed by the club and is eager to provide composure, aggression and defensive tackles throughout the season. He also noted the advantage of having his older brother, Tariq Lamptey – currently at QPR – available for advice. Assistant manager Danny Webb confirmed Lamptey’s swift settlement and the loan’s benefit for both clubs, giving the midfielder valuable senior experience ahead of his return to Millwall.
