Milly Alcock removes Supergirl posts amid DCU departure rumors

Speculation regarding Milly Alcock’s future as Supergirl in the DC Universe intensified after the actress removed several promotional posts related to the character from her Instagram account. The cleanup included her January 2024 announcement regarding her casting as Kara Zor-El.

While fans interpreted the move as a sign of a potential firing or distancing from the franchise following the film’s underwhelming $126 million worldwide box office performance and mixed critical reception, no official confirmation of a departure exists. Some observers suggest the removal may be a branding decision to curate her social media aesthetic, noting that she still follows James Gunn and official DC accounts.

DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn addressed the rumors on Threads, explicitly denying claims that Alcock had been fired. Alcock is still expected to appear in the upcoming film ‘Man of Tomorrow’.
