Milly Quezada bio-musical to premiere at New York Latino Film Festival

The bio-musical ‘Milly: Queen of Merengue’ will premiere as part of the 26th edition of the New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF), held from September 13 to 20. The film follows the life and career of Dominican singer Milly Quezada, tracing her journey from Washington Heights in New York to her international success as a leading figure in tropical music.

Directed by Leticia Tonos Paniagua and starring Sandy Hernández, the 118-minute production is a co-production between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. The film highlights Quezada’s musical legacy, her roots, and her influence as a Grammy Award winner within the merengue genre. The NYLFF will feature over 125 films from approximately 20 countries, celebrating Latino talent and diversity.
