Miloš Dimkovski to promote new novel in Skopje
Author Miloš Dimkovski will promote his new urban novel, “Kako gori pepelta” (How the Ash Burns), on October 19 at the Laboratorijum venue in Skopje. The event is designed as a literary gathering featuring a discussion with the author, book signing, and a DJ set inspired by the novel’s musical themes.
The story follows three friends—Lazar, a writer facing creative block; Lucija, a photographer; and Daniel, an aspiring DJ—who attend a techno festival in the tunnels beneath Brussels. After discovering an unusual frequency, they enter a hidden part of the tunnel system and emerge into a reality where their identities are erased, their documents are invalid, and their homes are occupied by strangers.
Through this surreal narrative, Dimkovski explores themes of identity, friendship, and the search for belonging. The novel portrays Brussels not through its political institutions, but as a vibrant, diverse city defined by electronic music, nightlife, and profound urban loneliness.
