Miloš Kerkez and father added to Ukrainian liquidation list

Hungarian national football player Miloš Kerkez and his father, Sebastián Kerkez, have been added to a liquidation list by the controversial Ukrainian website Mirotvorec. The portal, which publishes the identities of individuals it deems ‘enemies of the state,’ accused the pair of supporting Russian aggression and participating in attacks against the Ukrainian people.

The controversy stems from an Instagram post by Sebastián Kerkez, which featured a photo of Miloš during a match against Ukraine set to the song ‘Russian Paradise’ by the Russian rap group AK-47. This was interpreted in Ukraine as an open provocation and support for the Russian invasion.

The incident has triggered political backlash in Hungary. Politician Balázs Hidvéghi condemned the move, describing it as an ‘open threat to all Hungarians’ and criticizing the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its perceived passivity. Hidvéghi called for immediate diplomatic protection for the athlete and his family.
