Miloš Zeman's family dog, Darcy, has passed away

Darcy, the Golden Retriever belonging to former Czech President Miloš Zeman, has passed away at the age of 13. The dog spent ten years living at Prague Castle alongside the former head of state.

According to Miloš Zeman, the dog's health declined in July due to pneumonia. After being taken to a clinic, veterinarians ultimately had to euthanize him. The Zeman family has kept Darcy's urn at their home in Lány.

Darcy was considered a member of the family, particularly by Ivana Zemanová, who received the puppy for her 48th birthday. The dog was known for his playful and sometimes mischievous nature, including instances where he ate food intended for staff or family members.
